Find out more about our site's accessibility

We do use Javascript on this website, but we do so in an unobtrusive manner. This simply means that if you do not have Javascript enabled, you will still be able to use all aspects of this website.

We realise that not everyone will be using a graphical browser to view our website. With this in mind every image has been given a meaningful alternate text description. This is to ensure that if your browser does not support images, you can still understand the context in which the image is delivered.

This website has been designed to make it more accessible to a wider audience, including disabled users. This is because the site has been designed and developed using Web Standards. It is our belief that this website should be available to as many people as possible regardless of software, ability and hardware. For more information about Web Standards you can visit The Web Standards Homepage.

All pages on this website have been designed to meet the requirements for Double A Compliance. Where this has not been possible certain pages have been designed instead to meet the next best standard – Single A.

Double A Compliance is a web accessibility standard laid out by the W3C’s WAI in the WCAG 1.0.  Find out more about WCAG Double A Compliance.

Where indicated pages have been created using valid XHTML 1.0 and CSS to increase the compatibility and consistency of content for all users.  Web pages will work better in a range of web browsers and assistive technologies.  However, as a result of certain accessibility features you will benefit from using an up to date web browser
